What kinds of writing can you work with?

Fiction of just about any kind, for sure; but also articles, memoirs, autobiographies or histories.

What kinds of writing do you not work with?

Romance fiction, academic papers at any level.

Would you accept editing for an entire publication?

Absolutely. I can promise a fast turnaround, and will negotiate a per-word rate with you. I have lots of experience working with magazines and newsletters.

What national styles can Eclectic Light provide?

I am comfortable editing in Canadian and US styles and have the essential style-guides for both markets.

What file formats do you require?

I can work with just about anything but pdfs (and even those can be converted). For technical reasons, WordPerfect files are a pain, though.

If you want feedback, please send a file that will permit the tracking of changes such as MS Word files, or Mac's Pages files. If you are in doubt, an rtf file works every time, and is easy to export from most word-processing applications.

Will you negotiate a price?

Always!

What about payment?

I require a deposit of $25 (the minimum price) with any manuscript. That amount will be applied to the cost of the edit or returned to you promptly if I cannot assist you.

Are you 100% accurate with your edits?

I try to be, but I can only strive to make work excellent, not perfect.
